The Energy-SHIFTS team are excited to announce the launch of an Award scheme celebrating innovative work by Early Career Researchers in energy Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH).

Awards will be presented for innovative research in three areas: methods; findings; and engagements with policy and practice.

Early Career Researchers can apply for an Award if their research addresses one or more of the 400 priority questions listed in the four Energy-SHIFTS 2020 Horizon Scan Reports, which identify research priorities on the topics of: Renewables; Smart consumption; Energy efficiency; and Transport and mobility.

Three Award winners will each receive a personal cash prize of £850 and the chance to work with communications professionals to produce a short video about their research. Nine shortlisted applicants will receive a professionally-designed document summarising their innovative research.

The Energy SSH Innovation Awards are presented by Energy-SHIFTS in partnership with the Royal Geographical Society with IBG’s Energy Geographies Research Group, and the European Sociological Association: Research Network 12 Environment and Society.

The closing date for submissions is 26th April 2021.
