Emilia Smeds

Emilia Smeds is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP), University College London, and a Research Assistant on the H2020 SUMP-PLUS project at the UCL Centre for Transport Studies. Her PhD research compares the capacity of municipal government to engage in transformative experimentation for urban mobility transitions, tracing the long-term impact of experiments on the mobility systems of Bristol and New York. As part of the SUMP-PLUS project led by Prof Peter Jones, she is developing new conceptual frameworks for accelerating urban mobility transitions in 4 European cities. Emilia is looking forward to working with WG Transport collaborators on supporting EU innovation policy for urban mobility.
